Increasing Demand To “Work From Anywhere”

Online searches for “work from anywhere” jobs have risen by 48% in the space of year according to job search engine Adzuna.  Their research found that September 2022 saw 1,034 advertised UK  “work from anywhere” job vacancies, up from 699 a year ago.  Work from anywhere is the latest trend providing the ultimate flexibility, enabling people to work wherever they choose, whether that’s the office, home, coffee shop or on holiday – it doesn’t matter providing the job gets done.

IT is leading the way as the sector most likely to offer work from anywhere with 480 job vacancies in September, with PR and sales following with 118 and 115 work from anywhere job vacancies listed respectively.  Other sectors joining the trend include accounting and finance, admin and customer service.  These jobs tend to offer the same salary as their competitors in office-based roles, so employees could save a fortune on travel costs.

Paul Lewis, chief customer officer at Adzuna said “Since January 2021, we’ve seen steady increases in employers offering the perk, with big brands like Spotify pioneering the way.  While the talent-desperate Tech sector has been quick to follow suit, our data shows other white collar industries have been slower to adopt work from anywhere policies.  There will always be smallprint – visa restrictions, tax implications, and timezone coordinations to name just a few – but ultimately offering more workplace flexibility is the future.”
